The HI 9146N is a portable, water-resistant Dissolved Oxygen (DO) meter suitable for lab or field use. The meter measures up to 300% saturation or 45 ppm, and allows altitude compensation up to 4000 m. It features two-point calibration and the ppm and percent saturation are both compensated for changes in the solubility of oxygen in water and for permeability of the membrane, as well as the temperature effect. Its probe features built-in temperature compensation (ATC) and a protective membrane cover.
The meter provides diagnostic features and messages on the LCD screen, enabling the user to improve the reliability of measurements. The auto endpoint feature automatically freezes the display when a stable reading is reached. The Battery Error Preventing System (BEPS) detects when the batteries become too weak to ensure reliable measurements. The meter automatically turns itself off when the batteries are too weak to support proper function. It also allows the user to enter an ID code to uniquely identify the instrument.
DO range is 0.00 to 45.00 ppm; 0.0 to 300.0% + or – 1.5% of full scale or 1 digit (whichever greater) at 20 degrees C, with a resolution of 0.01 ppm; 0.1%. Temperature range is 0.0 to 50.0 degrees C + or – 0.2 degrees C (excluding probe error) at 20 degrees C, with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C. The device operates on three 1.5V AAA batteries. Dimensions are 185 x 72 x 36 mm (7.3” x 2.8” x 1.4’’), and weighs 300 g (10.6 oz.).
